hello,

i hired a tens machine from boots very last-minute last time - can't really remember much about it but would like to try one again this time around, all being well.

i've found the following site through prior mumsnet conversations, but am a bit baffled by the choice!

www.tens.co.uk/acatalog/Obstetric_TeNS_Hire.html

any suggestions / recommendations please?

thanks very much

i hired one from mothercare and it was very good, came with replacement pads, spare batterys and 4 weeks extension if you go overdue.

oh and it worked brilliantly and got me all the way through labour

I left it way too late and ended up buying an Elle TENS. It was brilliant. I then lent it to my friend who also thought it was brilliant.

Not sure on the others but the Elle has a boost button and the settings go quite high up. You can wear it around your neck, so easy access to the boost button.

I also had an Elle TENS and it must have worked well becos I got to fully dilated before getting to the hospital and hadn't even got to its second stage!

that's great - thanks very much for your advice, sounds like the elle tens will be fine. (and i won't feel a thing - ha!)
