Just wondering what people's experiences of this MLU are as I'm keen to give it a go!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

hi wedding cake,
i was desperate to use the malden suite as really wanted natural water birth in a chilled out midwife-led unit. unfortuntely my body had other ideas - had such high blood pressure they induced me, making it a medically intervened delivery so couldn't use the suite. other people i spoke to though reported good experiences - except that the pools are often unavailable when the time comes - not surprising seeing as theres only two.
i hope you do get to use it. if not, i had my son in the main delivery suite and couldn't fault it in any way. and the midwives at kingston are all fantastic - very overworked and underpaid - but nonetheless so helpful, attentive, and damned good at their jobs. i was there for many many days in the end and met loads of them - all brilliant. unless you need a doctors opinion/review now and then, you'll likely be in the sole care of the midwives and you'll be in very good hands.

unfortunately i didn't get to use it either time, but i believe it's great. the normal delivery unit is great too.

Thanks - sounds like it's the luck of the draw as to whether you get in but will keep my fingers crossed.
