Are subsequent babies usually later or earlier?

I am sure that there is no correct answer to this and it can go either way, but I wanted to check what the consensus was about subsequent babies. Do people find they tend to arrive earlier or later than their elder siblings did? I am 37.5 weeks with number 4 and numbers 1, 2 and 3 all came at exactly 39.5 weeks. However, my dating scan brought my due date forwards a few days and so I am wondering when to expect 39.5 weeks to be, or whether I should just stop doing things like heading off to Legoland with the kids in case baby makes an early appearance.

dd2 and ds both 12 days over

dd - 40 + 5
ds - 40 + 11
now overdue by 7 days for no.3...

Gosh, everyone seems to go longer with each baby! Maybe I should readjust my expectation of baby arriving early (feels as if it is ready to come with all of this activity I am having to do to get the builders in beforehand!)

ds 1 11 days over (was induced)
ds 2 on due date
ds 3 -will be c-section so early!

ds1 39 weeks
ds2 37 weeks

DD - 3days over - castor oil
DS - 5 days over - induced

ds1- 40+6
ds2- 40+6
dd- 27 weeks
ds3- I'll let you know soon

DD born 10 days late (although 3 days late by my dates)
DS born 12 days late and was induced (and I had the feeling he'd have been there another week if we hadn't encouraged his exit!)

DS2 was early-DS3 was late.

DS1 - 2 weeks late (induced)
DS2 - 38+6

DS1 42 +5 (induced)
DS1 40!!!

both one week early, but much easier quicker labour with 2nd!
