I had DD2 a few days ago. Although i put on less weight this pregnancy my stomach is about double the size than it was after DD1. Is this common (may also be my age - 39)? I look about 6 months pregnant ....

After I had DS2, I looked about 7 months pregnant (and that is not exaggerating!) until I started dieting - which was when DS2 was about 2 months old iirc - my stomach did not shrink at all and I was very about it tbh. I was still having to wear my maternity clothes as nothing else came close to fitting!

Once I started dieting adn exercising, my stomach did shrink quite rapidly and now, another 2 months later, I don't really look pg - just fat

Congrats on the birth of your DD2

Don't know how common it is - I put on less weight with my second, but DD was 11lb 12oz so I put the extra stomach blubber down to that.

It did eventually shrink but I'll never wear a bikini again - there's just too much skin.

Sorry.

oh dear - very depressing! I weigh about 3/4 stone less than after first baby but as you say, look very pregnant. Due to having had less weightgain this time i hoped i wouldn't actually look worse! It also seems firmer which is prob a bad sign...

Yep - I put on about 2 1/2 stone with DS1 but only 1 1/2 stone with DS2 but looked SO much worse - must be the curse of the 2nd child.

Sorry - it will go eventually - just v depressing at the time.

It will take some time to shed the weight

I lost loads of weight after my first and was probably at my skinniest ever. I definately put on less weight the second time but still haven't lost it all (19 months on). I think you're a bit older, your skin's not as stretchy and you have even less time to think about yourself after number 2. To be honest I didn't worry as much either
