So...my friends children have been sick today and had runny nappies, midwife advice is to keep dd clear as it could affect me after birth (and dd and dh of course).

Part of me is thinking, most of the time these little bugs don't get passed on. But being knackered after the birth and bf is not going to be a good time to get even more run down

So suppose the question is...do I risk a bug that may/maynot be a bad one or do I?

I know I'm the only person who can answer the question, but humour me please! I'm a bit nervy about tomorrow.

I do have a doula for support...and choosing between doula and dh being at the birth...I would have to choose doula...dh wants to see birth, but has shown no intention of supporting me during labour. It will be sad at the end if he can't be there...but I need to get through the labour WITH support this time.

Can you postpone your induction at all? even 24 hrs? might give you an idea if your friends kids have just eaten something dodgy or have a full blown stomach bug!

Can no-one else pitch in to help?

Thanks for replying. Im 42 wks tomorrow. I would like her out for peace of mind. And I may actually be in early stages of labour now, i think.

Good idea about poseponing tho, not thought of that. No one else to help.

Homebirth???

clutching at straws here!

Hope all goes well. Good luck!

I'd take the risk personally. It may not be essential to you for DH to be there but how does he feel about potentially missing the arrival of dc into the world? Good luck either way.

Blameitonthebogey, you are probably right there!! My dad only missed out on one birth - my oldest sister and he comments on it with every birth...

Goodluck!!!

Thanks for the replies! We risked it! No sign of bug yet and my friends dd was sick while dd1 was there.
