Mine was, about 30 hours quicker and I wasn't so scared.
Good Luck!

Thanks ... sounds like you had a long birth first time round mine was 16 hours in all

I think it was much easier as the muscles are slackened up and pushing the baby out was much easier (nightmare first time round, popped out no effort for the second)

My 2nd pregnancy was much harder in some ways. Second birth was loads better, calmer and just lovely, really. Whole postnatal period was a joy second time round (found it all very hard after first one).

6 hours more pain because faster ?

do they not offer so many drugs due to less time ?

My second was shorter and sharper than my first. So swings and roundabouts - but the main difference was that I knew what I was up against and wasn't as petrified as I was with DC1. I knew what was "normal", IYSWIM. Good luck - hope it goes well.

with dd1 i was pushing for 8 hours, in a lot of pain all the way through and with dd2 i pushed twice and had an almost pain free labour.

My body seemed to know what to do more, as did I.
I agree about the postnatal period being easier as well, breastfeeding, night feeds, no sleep all of it was so much easier and you know it won't last forever, the newborn stage so you enjoy it more. I was far more confident in my own abilities an instincts as a Mother.
It'll be great

Really enjoyed labour 2nd time round, and didn't have pnd like I'd had with my 1st. So much better!
