contractions or just BH?

well i'm 40+2 and very impatient! i've been having contractions/ tightenings today which have been every 8 ish minutes and have carried on even while i've been busy.
then they stop.
could these be contractions or are they just BH?
i'm trying not to get my impatient hopes up but i can't help it.

please advise!

should say they go on for about 2h then stop for an hour or so then re-appear.

Hiya,

Well obviously your body is getting ready to go, how long that will take is quite another matter i'm afraid.

Is this 1st baby? If so, latent phase can take a good week sometimes.

That said, it doesn't always mean it will.

Warm bath, that normally sorts the bh from the ctx ime.

cheers - been having BH for some time and in last week they have been stronger and more regular but think i probably am just getting my hopes up

I've been having something very similar for the last week, now 40+11 but still no sign of labour starting, despite midwife saying I'm already 2cm dialated. Going to discuss induction options tomorrow
