Anyone heard of a link between SPD / PGP and shoulder dystocia...?

...it's just that when SD happens the baby gets stuck on the symphysis pubis which is why i was wondering, but midwife didn't know.

By my logic, if you have SPD you have more space through that particular gap.

Or do you mean causing it after birth?

My DD suffered from shoulder dystocia and caused/I went through a difficult and prolonged final stage of labour. Often wondered if it would cause problems for any future pregnancies.

Will be watching this thread from interest to see if anyone has got any evidence/knowledge of this...

Other thing i'd like to know is whether SD just happens or whether you tend to have a difficult final stage as lemontart experienced. Midwives are tending to say the former but the consultants the latter....

Do you mind if i ask what happened to your lo as a result of SD lemontart? Also what was the effect on you?
