Hi,
my home birth has just been agreed this week. I could do with some inspiration on what songs to pick for a cd.
Thanks

I just chose tunes I liked. Stuff I was listening to at the time, stuff I loved, stuff about me and DH. Just go with your own flow.

WE need a Doula Island Disc thread

I took a cd in to theatre with me and ds3 was born to labbi siffre 'something inside so strong'.

The theatre staff asked me to loan them the cd for the rest of the day and the lady who had c section after me was delivered to 'sex on the beach' lololol

I found Norah Jones was the best of everything I'd recorded.

I gave birth to Enya - trouble is I can't listen to it anymore, for some reason it has lost it's relaxing quality for me now.

I put the wrong cd in the case and ended up with gregorian chants Weirdest thing is that it really helped, I sort of went into a zone! Better than gas and air!

I had Jack Johnson cos he just makes me feel like I'm relaxing on a beach on holiday!

glinda - I was going to make that point! Prepare for what ever songs you choose to loose their previous meaning forever!!!

DD1 - last thing I was listening to before the general anaesthetic - David Gray

DD2 - Louis Armstrong 'On Blueberry Hill'

DD3 - Hothouse Flowers 'Love don't work this way'

I don;t find the songs have become spoiled for me, I just have a litle smile when I remember.

I found some points I wanted really chilled music and others I wanted something more funky to take my mind off things - so take a mix not a full cd of (for example) whale music as you may very soon discover it irritates you
