I was given a great tip for my first labour that you will tear less when pushing if you push with your chin either:
a) raised
b) tucked to your chest

it really worked but with current pregnancy brain I can't remember if I'm to keep my chin up or down. Can anyone help....?

Chin down!

Chin down enables you to keep your jaw relaxed and, by proxy, your fanjo muscles 'cause they're all inter-connected in some way. Strange but true.
