I will be getting an elective c section in about 8 weeks, and want to be in hosp for as little as poss (DD at home) not sure when my hosp (QM's Glasgow) will take me in - whether it will be the night before or that morning?

If you had an elective when did you get taken in?

In the morning (both times). Got out the next day.

I was told to come in at an obscenely early hour of the morning of the day I was booked in for.

Oh, and nil by mouth from midnight the night before.

Same here, I was in the hospital at 6.45, had my DD at 9.31. Was let home 2 days later

you will go in in the morning, but be aware you will be bumped down teh list if emergencies present .. so count on a couple of days minimum to include some recovery time etc.
