Anyone had lightening/ pre-labour engagement in 2nd or subsequent pregnancies?

All the books say for a second baby the baby doesn't engage until labour starts but I feel like she's dropped a fair bit today (37+2) and def a bit more pressure in the pelvic area although nothing extreme.

I was induced early first time round with a totally non-engaged DS so I don't really know what it feels like.

Maybe as DS was born so fast (6hrs start to finish) it all snapped back shut like a beartrap and this is like a first pregnancy??? (Actually I do hope not because that's going to mean a looooong labour)

PS I have no other labour symptoms at the mo so I don't think I'm in early labour and not noticed. I do feel the house needs a good clean but that's incontrovertible - half an inch of builders' dust EVERYWHERE!

Yes, 1/5 engaged at my 37 week MW appointment, my ribcage shrank back so my bras would do up, and there was more pressure down below too. SO it can happen. THat was with my 2nd pregnancy. I had her at 38+6, so you never know...

I was 4/5 engaged at my 38 week check up with dS2- all of a sudden a couple of days after that my bump dropped and I had a show over the next 3 days and like CaptainKarvol gave birth (a lovely quick one too) at 38 plus 6. It was a lovely surprise as I was induced at 42 weeks with DS1 (had an 8 hour labour with DS1). If you had a quick labour with no1, chances are it'll be quicker with no 2 unless they are in an awkward position.

Oh, also I didnt have any labour symptoms before my waters broke (contractions then kicked in an hour later at 5 mins already).
