Where should I have DC2? Anyone with experience of St Georges and/ or St Heliers SW London?

We had our antenatal class last night, the one and only being second timers. It raised a slight dilemma- St heliers is under reconstruction due to a midwife led unit being built there. It won't be ready before May. I had DD at St Georges, we have since move but it is still only about 15mins away if there is no traffic. When We had DD St Georges was building their MLU and it wasn't finished in time for me but as I had an epidural I wouldn't have been able to use it anyway.
So do I carry on and give birth at St Heliers or go to lovely (?) MLU at St Georges. I would love to have a water birth this time and and feeling positive about going ahead without an epidural (hoping for quicker labour and love G & A). I have been happy with St Heliers so far and it is only 5 mins away by car. I think I will visit both and make a decision in the next few weeks.

These were the two hospitals I was torn between. I went for St. Georges simply because I had been to the EPU several times and really valued the care I received there, and also the Fetal Medicine Unit has a great reputation and having lost several babies it was reassuring knowing I would have access to that facility if necessary.

Mayday is nearest to me. I won't say anymore

I have no experience of St Georges except that I have heard good things about it over the years. I had both my babies at St Heliers and my sisters have had most of there children there, our experiences havent been very good. The midwifes are very rude and the care in general is very poor. Having said that, I had to have an emergency caesarean and the surgeon and the recovery room staff were brilliant.
One of my sisters decided to have her 2nd child at Epsom hospital because she didnt like St Heliers after her 1st baby, would that be possible for you to get too?

No I'd rather go to St Georges again if I don't go to St Heliers can I change this late?? Who do I need to ask?

I had DS2 at St G's MLU a month ago and it was fantastic. I also live closer to St H. Despite the building work I think standard of care at St H supposedly good but if you know you def want MLU then I thoroughly recommend St G's.

Thanks HofM I'm glad your birth went well congrats!! I think I will go to St G MLU. I have heard good things about St H but like the sound of MLU and quick easy birth in nice surroundings.

My sister went to St Georges and they were very good except for the fact that she had to shout at the reception in order to get seen in the first instance - she just got told to "take a seat" mid contraction!
My boss also went to St Georges at night and noone answered the door after she went up in the lift so she was stuck in the corridor for quite a while.
