Am I in labour?

hi, im 40 weeks + 3 days and feeling strong period pains, should i call the midwife?

Mine started off as period pains but at that point I still had a long time to go. Until you feel the waves of contractions coming 5 mins apart, it's probably too soon. Good luck.

Not sure if this is early labour as i feel strong pain (like period) every 5 minutes. Should i wait?

Are you feeling tightening across your tummy aswell?

I would wait a while longer and see how things go. Is this your first child?

I am 39 weeks and had these every night now for the last few days- they have come to nothing.

I would wait until they are at least coming every 5 mins and not going away.

Good luck- really hope it is labour for you as I am fed up now and have every sympathy x

Well flaqui, I would definitely wait a while. How exciting though! I'm a midwife by the way....

See how regular they are, move around and see if they stop.

Any other symptoms?

iv had really strong period like pains with tightening across my stomach it varys from that to a really unbareable pain starting in my back coming up and round into my stomach and down my legs for about 10 days now, my stomach is contracting but nothings moving along because the pains are irregular and only coming around every 20 mins and after hours of this they seem to just fizzle out.. due in days with my first hopefully something will start to happen soon. fingers crossed for you tho hun sounds like something is happening x
