Hiya

had this on pregnancy topic but thought I would copy onto here as more appropiate xx

I seem to be on here worrying non stop lately !!
Im coming up for 35 weeks pregnant & saw the consultant on Tuesday... i am due to have a growth scan at 36 weeks as im measuring larger than I am, & ds was 8lb 9 & I had a terrible birth (so they may do a c section)..
They also told me Tuesday I am 2/5ths engaged which never happened with my DS??!!! not even while in labour!
The reason I am concerned is that i feel sooooooo much pressure down below....when im driving the car, try to bend down walk etc... it feels as if the pressure is amlost too much to bear & is actually really uncomfortable?? I never had this with my ds.. could baby maybe be fully engaged now? if she is.. isent that way too early & should I be feeling such immense pressure at only 35 weeks?? Is she coming early???
(hope not as im having to go into great ormond st hospital for 2 weeks with my ds when im 37 weeks!!! TOO CLOSE to birth I know..but what can I do..he needs to go in!)

also forgot to say..when baby moves it can be REALLY uncomfortable... like things are so tight & the feeling & pressure down below makes me wince..like shes gonna pop out!!
thought i would update.. i still feel the same as I did, however today, i also have poo'ed non stop !!! Normal poo's, havent got upset tum or anything..(sorry for the detailed info!!) but constantly feeling pressure & the urge to go??? im sitting here now feeling like I need another (dont think there is anything there though- as this would be about the 8th one!!!)
Is this anything any of you have felt?? I have also got SLIGHT period crampy feeling in bottom of tum..not pain...just a weird feeling

i was like that from about 36weeks on ds2, but he didn't come out until 41 weeks! if you are concerned, give your mw a ring, but even if your baby does come now, she will be fine, its not massively early - and babies are said to be full term at 37 weeks which isnt too far off. also, it is possible if your baby is measuring big, your dates could be wrong?

try to relax and if you feel like you need to rest then its important to get that rest.

good luck with the birth

Hi jkb,
When pregnant with dd (baby no.2), I had very similar experience. Felt at times like if I looked down she'd be hanging out!! She was also engaged from bout 30 weeks. Freaked me out completely but she managed to hang on til 40 weeks, when she was induced due to lack of mvmnts (massively wrapped up in cord as it happened, so not a prob).
Hope this helps to reassure you at least. I took paracetomol couple of times as was so uncomfortable, and as far as I know it's fine to do this.

try not to worry though I know it's hard! I'm having similar with this pregnancy (37 +5 with DC2). I think it's just that your body is more experienced at it and everything is looser, so the baby might go lower in the pelvis and everything is ripening up for birth, but doesn't necessarily mean an earlier birth. also don't forget you are caring for an older child which puts more physical strain on you generally. I would have a nice hot bath and not worry unless you get regular pains.. hope you feel better soon!
