Am 40 weeks and the midwife agreed to give me a sweep as I've been struggling a bit to keep mobile. (My BP was a bit high today and I was worried it might go higher if I had to wait another week). Anyway it turns out I am so close to labour she reckons I'll have it in the next 24 hours......

Of course, am now bricking it. Words of wisdom from you old hands would be great!!

how exciting!

rest now, and eat something if you can

stay at home as long as you can and have a bath if everything kicks off

is your bag packed?!

it happened exactly the same for me. went into labour the next day. sweep made me bleed quite a bit so dont worry.

good luck

bag all packed and have just eaten a Mars Bar..... they help you work, rest and play so I reckon they help you give birth as well.

I have noticed a little bit of blood. It was the longest bus journey ever getting home and thinking 'pleeease don't let my waters go here....'!

oh my god! cannot believe you got the bus back, i'd have had my legs crossed too. Good luck, how exciting. 2cm's already is great i was induced with 3 lots of prostin and didn't get that far.

Definitly rest lots, it could be a while yet, but also keep busy only mentally so you don't go insane waiting. definitly eat.
bath made me feel worse, and i was planning a water birth, i stood under the shower with it spraying on my back as thats where my pain started, it worked wonders.

So excited and i don't even know you, good luck.
