Had a sweep today....

about 4:30 this afternoon,

found out that i'm already 3cms dilated and 50%effaced (but not sure what the effacement means) and cervix is 'very favourable'

Baby is 3/5ths engaged and i've got a constant pain in my lower back and contractions lasting 20 secs or so every 5/6 minutes....

any chance the baby will come tonight?
please send positive labour vibes...

Ooh will be thinking of you. Everything sounds like a good chance things will be happening. Just get as much rest as you can now. Do some nipple stimulation maybe to help things along.

It certainly sounds very positive fingers crossed that tonight is the night!! for you and me both!! .

I had pains a few hours after a sweep with ds, that was the Tuesday night. They did wear off but came back again the Weds morning and i had him on the Thursday. Good luck

Im am 39+5 with DC3 - and totally fed up!! ive not slept right for blooming weeks - no certain signs yet! but lots of strong BHs and a bit of a show.

How are the contractions coming along?

they're ok... only about 20-25secs long and not very regular so not getting my hopes up too much.

i was induced with ds1 so these contractions feel like tiddlers at the moment. DH is very excited tho. keeps looking at me quisically (sp)
