Am I in labour or is this just practice

This is my second so I really should know these things. Last time DS was in bad position so, after long labour had emergency section. Can't remember how it all started.

Have been having period pains/cramps for a few days now and a general, something's happening feeling.

This evening the cramps have got worse but feel very much at the bottom iyswim. Feels like all the pain is in my cervix and under the bump. However they are fairly regular (every few minutes). I can talk through them but am finding myself increasingly taken aback

Are these proper contractions or BH?

I feel ridiculous asking complete strangers who can't see me if I'm in labour but there you go. My only concern is what happens if I suddenly need to go to hospital in the middle of the night. What do I do with DS1?!?!

well, i guess it depends on how far along you are and if the contractions are increasing in intensity and are getting closer together. maybe have a family member take him?

Sounds like contractions. Braxton hix do not make you feel as if your cervix is stretching (the pains down there).

BH don't come regular either. Can you call someone to come round to look after ds? If not, you'll have to take him with you.....
