Hello not having a car myself I have to call a cab to get to hospital....but having listened to all the NHS strictures of not turning up early, wait til the contractions are 3 mins apart etc etc....when should I call it - given I will prob have to allow 45 mins for them to turn up?

i would call before contractions are 3mins apart, you might have to wait ages for a taxi.
when i had dd i phoned the hospital when contractions were about 10 mins apart, they said dont bother coming in, first baby it will be hours yet, maybe not even today - fortunately i ignored them and went in anyway - dd was born 1 1/2 hours later!
