Help! Pains all day (39 weeks) and now shooting pains/pins and needles at top of legs, what the hell is it?

Have been having period type pains all day on and off. They aren't getting worse but over the past hour have started to get shooting pains around hips and sides of bump which start feeling like pins and needles? Anyone have this?

Have you spoken to the mw, at your stage could be anything BH or the real deal...

FWIW my last labour started as period pains mostly in my back

I haven't called midwife, just Lulumama!

did you speak to labour ward earlier?

try another wallow in the bath... really hope things are kicking off for you.

I haven't rang labour ward Lulu as I am under the impression that they won't be interested unless I am in AGONY! I will see how things go tonight, it could happen, it might not! I hope so as I am knackered and don't want this going on for days as it is hard to rest.

The slight pins and needles could be the baby pressing on a nerve. I know dd pressed on a nerve towards the end and my left leg was alternately numb or had pins and needles at the top.
