Hi

Im almost 30 weeks & since this morning I have had pains very low down (almost in my pubic hairline) like cramps/poo pains..feel them in lower back too.. nothing regular..but they are coming & going..cos at times i have no pain atal & think i feel better... & then I think to myself...oh that pains back again.
Its not severe, but its starting to really worry me now, I havent felt right today, not hungry,a bit sick at times & been for a number 2 3 times (sorry for the detail!). This could be a sign of maybe a bug? but I know this could also be a sign of labour?
baby was really massivly moving around last night too, could she have maybe kicked somthing off thats nothing to worry about?
I do feel quite weird/worried.. I have a bath, shaved my legs & am all set just in case !! maybe im just being totally paranoid cos my sister in law just had her baby 3 weeks early & delivered in the loo!!!

Any help would be much appreciated

Have you rung your midwife? If not then you should - at not quite thirty weeeks shaved legs is the least of your worries! Go and ring up and see what they say.

phone the midwife - you need to be looked at just in case

I feel ok at the moment- havent had the pains for about 2 hours....but that happened earlier & then they came back..would feel silly ringing at the moment I think..my hubby thinks im fine..just a bug & would think i were panicking if i rung the hospital

Get yourself seen

might be labour or might be something else, but a lot of something elses (eg a UTI) can trigger labour in themselves iyswim

If it is labour then the earlier you get help the better for yu and for the baby (eg steroids need time to work before delivery and can't be administered if you leave it too late)

Good luck

It might be the baby settling into the pelvis, I had similar sort of thing at about 35 weeks and thought it was labour, was rocking on the floor it hurt so much - but no - it was just some preparations going on

Northernlurker · 25/01/2009 18:58

It's not panicking to ring the hospital. It's sensible. You don't know what's going on and we certainly can't tell over the internet. Chances are it's nothing - but if it isn't then as others have said the sooner you get seen the better.

Ok... My son is upstairs asleep at the mo & we dont have any family nearby to come & sit with him.. however my mum is due to arrive from up north in 2 hours !!! (how weird is that timing !!!)... so when she gets here, if I have had more pains I can go to the hospital if they ask me to.

you can just turn up at your DAU and they will monitor you - they don't mind at all, I've done it twice and i'm only 27 weeks you should definately get seen tonight - don't leave it. It may be nothing but they can monitor baby's heartbeat and also see if you are having contractions. If you are not, at least you know it's nothing to worry about.

I know u are all right ..its better to be safe than sorry..but i also know im a worrier!! & my hubby gets a little fed up of it I think!

I will definetly ring & go there if i have anymore pains by the time my mum gets here x

That sounds like a good plan. If you do have a lot of pains before your mum gets to you then put your son in the car and take him too. Hope you have a very peaceful non-eventful evening though!

jkb · 25/01/2009 19:10

me too!!! I cant wait to see my mums face !!! at least then I can relax ...my ds is only 3 & is unwell with a temp of 39 & would hate to wake him... if it did kick off before my mum gets here I would go to hospital alone if I had to x

If you don't need to go in tonight do give your MW a ring tom orrow just to get her to check you over (urine for UTI, etc).

Sod Dh- what if yu were right and left it too long? Would 'oh at least he doesn't think I am a worrier' be enough (from the woman who never rang the MW unit when her waters broke and a few days ahd a labour of 40 minutes with only one MW just making it as a result LOL )

jkb · 25/01/2009 19:45

im seeing my MW wednesday anyway.. so hope all is quiet till then !
