Just been to the loo and when i wiped it was what can only described as greeny yellowy creamy coloured snot! it didnt smell of anything but it was quite a big blob.

This is DC3 and although i have a show before with DD2 it was very bloody, but this is all i can really remember about it as i went on to deliver her just 3 hours later.

bumping for you!

Watoose · 25/01/2009 14:08

Sounds like it but it might not mean things are very imminent.

Can you ring the mW for advice?

Lulumama · 25/01/2009 14:09

you can have a show weeks before you deliver. in the absence of any pains, waters breaking or any other signs, don't panic. IIRC the plug cna reform and you might not have lost all of it. if it is not bloody, it is less liekyl to be a sign of impending labour IME. you can always call labour ward for reassruance.

Thankyou thats reassuring, ive not even packed a back yet!! but i a planning a HB. Maybe this it the kick up the ass i need to pack one - just to be on the safe side.

Ive had no pain (well not more that usual) so i will just how things go.

you won;t be able to deliver at home until you are 38 weeks... you should pack a bag anyway, just in case you have to transfer in to the hospital for any reason

twocutedarlings · 25/01/2009 14:22

thanks lulu, yes i know i had planned on packing very small bag just in case.

In my area you can have a HB from 37 weeks, still i dont plan on going before then lol i am just not mentally ready .

Just been to loo again and there was no more, so fingers crossed thats it...........for now anyhow.

Do i need to do anything any different? can you still have sex? .

OP posts:
Watoose · 25/01/2009 14:26

I'd be cautious about having sex, ring the MW and ask to be on the safe side.

Howdie · 25/01/2009 14:28

Indeed TCD, term is counted as 37-42 weeks of pregnancy so there is no such thing as "not allowed a homebirth until 38 weeks". As long as you and baby are healthy in pregnancy and the baby is well grown then there is no reason why you should have to go into hospital if you labour between 37-38 weeks.

What you described in your OP could also be very heavy vaginal discharge which is very common in late pregnancy but it can also be down to an infection such as thrush. I would contact your midwife and ask to have a swab taken just in case it is an infection.

Good luck with your birth.

twocutedarlings · 25/01/2009 14:36

Thanks watoose/howdie

I will contact CMW now and see what they say

Howdie i actually had a swab done about 4 weeks ago, which came back all clear, do you think i should ask for another one to be done?

yy

twocutedarlings · 25/01/2009 14:55

Just spoken to my MW, and she says it sounds very much like a show but like you ladies have said it does not mean i am about to go into labour now, as it can happen upto 2 weeks before and to just carry on as normal and to ring LW if i get any pains.
