hi
I know when I was pregnant with my first I used to ask "how will I know I am in labour?" and everyone would just say "you will know "etc etc
BUT I never have!. my first baby I was admitted for high blood pressure, thought I had a bit of an upset tummy then started pushing - she was nearly born in the lift as they tried to get me to the labour ward in time. My second I had my waters broken to try and start labour and about an hour and a half later I thought I needed a poo and went to the toilet - nothing happened but a few minutes later I was just walking across them room and felt the urge to push, thinking i still needed a poo I tried to go back to the toilet saying " there something coming out!" luckily the midwife came in the room at that point and told me to get up on the bed it wasnt a poo it was my baby -he was born 3 pushes later.

another thing which scares me is that both time I have been told I am not in labour because I was not showing contractions on the monitor.

anyway although I am grateful for the quick deliveries I am very nervous that I wont recognize I am in labour. I have BH regularly and did with my other pregnancies which i think is what threw me off a bit!

I am home alone with my 4 year old and two year old everyday and the only people I can call to help are my husband who works well over an hour away and my dad who is the same.

does anyone have any experiecne of this?
I could really do with being in the hospital for the birth as i have high blood pressure and have had problems after both of my previous children.

the consultant wouldnt consider inducing because "it is my third i will know when to go in" apparently

I sympathise, was in labour apparently for 2 hours with DS1 and was told I only felt the contractions because my waters had been broken, and to expect a window of 1 hour with DS2.
