Can anyone recommend a private midwife in the SW London / Surrey area?

I am extremely unhappy with the midwife I have been assigned on the NHS and have made a complaint. Should this not be resolved to my satisfaction I am thinking about hiring a private midwife as I would like a homebirth. Can anyone recommend one? And do you know what the going rates are please?

TIA

Hi there I have two lovely midwives from The Midwifery Practice - you should find them on google. Rates are on their website.

Thanks very much.

I'm currently 24 weeks, so haven't gone through a home birth with them yet, but get on really well with them at antenatal appointments.

South London but I don't know what area they cover - maybe not SW. I had Tina for antenatal classes once, she was lovely.

If you want to do your own research, you can find others here: www.independentmidwives.org.uk/

Can I second the recommendation for SLIM (south london independent midwives)?

Tina and Theresa delivered my second baby and Tina delivered my third. They are absolutely outstanding - very experienced, wonderful. And cheaper than The Birth Centre (Caroline Flint's practice) in Tooting, who also cover your area!

I'm an antenatal teacher with the NCT and SLIM have delivered 6 babies in total for the 3 teachers in my branch. Two of those babies were first births at home, one was a 10lbs 12oz baby at home, one was a 10lbs second baby at home and two were 9lbs +. I also had gestational diabetes so was a 'high risk' birth at home. They gave me impeccable, evidence based care throughout my pregnancies. I know the other two teachers would recommend them just as enthusiastically as me.
