Tens machine - use before going into labour to get used to it?

I'm sure I've heard somewhere that you're supposed to start using tens machines before labour to get used to it - anyone heard the same? I don't mean to try it out so you know how to use it and what to expect, but rather to build up your tollerance or something?

I have done this, and I found it really helped train my body to produce loads of endorphones on demand. You can do it from 37 weeks.

endorphines - can't type!

Oooh - I should probably get going with it then as I'm 39 weeks now!

Go for it!
Don't fall asleep with it on though, you get very high and have trouble settling back to sleep after discovering that (a mistake I made!)

it was a few yrs ago when i had my last child (2005) but back then my midwife told me not to try the tens machine until i was in labour.
