Failed ECV- when to have acupuncture to shift breech/ transverse baby?

So, 36 +2 and went for ECV to try and turn breech baby today. No luck- the obst managed to shift him a little, from head-up position to transverse/ diagonal lie!
Am quite keen to try acupuncture to get this baby to move, do I need to wait a few days before I go, seeing as the baby has been 'interfered with' or will it not matter?
Am thinking that as with anything to shift a breech baby, it has more chance of working while there's still a bit of space in there...

I'd talk to an accupuncturist experienced in dealing with breech and take their advice.

My gut feel is that sooner may be better - partly because, as you say, space is ever decreasing, but also because it sound like your obs may have managed to shift your babies back side out of your pelvis, which will make it much easier for them to turn.

Hope you can get them head down. My DD was born as a breech baby at home in the end, but it wasn't an easy or stress free decision by any means - much less hassle all round if they'll turn

He may turn on his own. There is still time believe it or not. I was booked in for cs at 39+4 because this one was found to be extended (frank) breech at 36.5 but when I went in she had turned sometime in between my 38+9 and 39+2 appointment.

Am now 40+5 and still no sign of her wanting to make good an escape!

Have you looked at the spinning babies website spinning babies

They have some good tips on helping them to turn.

Don't give up hope, there is still time.

I had a successful ECV with DD at 37wks exactly, only for her to turn breech again 2 days later

That was a Friday & started acupunture & moxibustion (it stinks...) on the Monday.

DD turned head down at some point over night 38+6/39+0 - I didn't feel her turn but knew from where the kicks were.

39+0 was my pre-op assessment day for c/s & they didn't believe me until they had done an ultrasound to check, as "babies don't turn that late..."!!

Went into labour on 39+4 (ended up an em c/s, but that's a whole other story )

DD was 8lb 8.5oz, so not exactly small either.

Also check out OFP and spinning babies

whatever you do think positive, there is still time

fingers crossed
