Is it normal to have more painful period pains after birth than before?
Never suffered much but got more pains these days.
Baby is 5 months old and this is my 2nd period since the birth....

My little one is 10 months now, and my periods are definitely more painful than before I had him. they're heavier too. Don't know if it's normal, but you're definitely not alone

My first 3 were bloomin awful but now they seem to have settled down although still very heavy.

I have had 5 now and they arent painful anymore, just the usual aches IYSWIM.

My DS is 7mths now and I have just had my first period. It was really heavy for about 5 days then lighter but has lasted 16 days. I have got a coil fitted so I don't know if that is related but I have been told my periods should get shorter/ lighter and poss disappear altogether (because of the coil) I do hope so as I'm really fed up with it!!!

Mine are less painful - I used to have to take ibuprofen every month but not any more.

I can't wear tampons any more though, the string rubs against my episiotomy scar and is really uncomfortable. Hoping it's only temporary......

After ds1 mine were awful, I ended up getting transexamic (sp?) acid from my GP to lighten the flow.

Still bf ds2 at 6 months so I've not had any since having him and tbh I'm dreading it. May look into getting a coil fitted to ease things if it's the same again as I'm hopeless at remembering to take tablets

I gave birth 6 wks ago, and think i'm getting my first period. No pain, and just a tiny bit of 'spotting' today. When should you get your first one?
