I am 40.2 weeks and have a consultants appointment tomorrow - will they do a sweep - the policy at my hospital is they will let you go 10 days after edd before trying to induce labour. That would be in a weeks time.

they might offer you one
do you want one? if not you can decline

I am probably like everyone else and would really like the baby to come - I think if a sweep enabled me to go into labour naturally then yes as appose to being induced!! My MW was so positive last week that I was all set )

Is this your first?

Yes, my friend also had a really bad experience being induced and then had a really bad E CS, so I am slightly nervous!

My midwife told me when I was pg that she would do a sweep when I was 39 weeks if I wanted.

Ask for one if you want it, they dont really have a reason to refuse.

I was offered one at 40+4. I declined and made for the door! Went into labour 72 hours later anyway.
