They have sent her home now but she was in hospital for 2 nights. She had a scan today and they found nothing.

Any ideas what it could be? My first thoughts were a placenta problem but they didnt find anything.

She still smokes and has the odd drink but I cant think that either of those would have caused it??

She has to stay in bed now until she has it. Has anyone else had this? Were you induced early even if the bleeding stopped? Thanks.

Hm...some women bleed a bit when the "plug" goes...could it be that...considering tat nay blood, especially in pg, sets of alarm bells...even if not needed...

anyway, let us know how your friend gets on, and remeber that at 37 weeks, tios Baby is pretty fulterm, so, things will , most likely, be fine...

I had placenta praevia but it was missed initially, (not sure how!) and only picked up when I had a massive bleed at 32 weeks.

She definitely should not be staying in bed till delivery - that is really out of date advice. She will end up with a blood clot in her leg!

It isn't uncommon to have bleeding of unknown origin in pregnancy. Sometimes it is bleeding from the cervix because of a raw area, often distrurbed during sex.

It may or may not happen again. She will not need induced unless it happens again frequently.
