Hi
I am 31+4 weeks and had a scan last week. My baby was head down and I wonder if he will stay like this until full term?

Thanks

DC can still move until the day it is born so keep sitting in the right position (knees lower than pelvis. If it flips round the wrong way, getting on all fours as often as possible helps!

good luck!

lovelymama is spot on.... DC can move and move and move... less likely if DC becomes engaged.. but still not impossible by any means!!

hi how do you know if baby is engaged?

Your Midwife will be able to tell you. I believe my midwife said Its when their head (correct me if i'm wrong someone, first timer myself) sinks lower into your pelvis. My babies head is well down, but not "engaged" yet as you can still feel a little of her head (well the midwife can) above the public bone.

If you look at your maternity notes under presentation there will be "ceph" for head down. then there is another collumn called "relation to brim in 1/5th Palpable" (This is, i'm assuming all notes for all hospitials/units are the same) At present mine says NE (not engaged)

I believee once engaged its done on a scale of fifths. so 1/5, 2/5 and so on.

Hope this helps a little!

x

I'm 33 weeks.. you must be 32 today??? Surely that makes you due in january?

Don't think i've seen you on our Due in January thread? Check it out under antenatal ones.. its great for getting answers to Questions (quickly) and finding out all the niggles you are feeling are perfectly normal!

due in jan 09
