I was advised after my c section not to wear tampons untill period a month after.

Agree with Klover, shouldn't use tampons at all for post partum bleeding. Sorry, I know that's not what you wanted to hear!

Congrats BTW

I was advised not to use until lochia had stopped, and it was my first proper period, sorry.
It is because there may still be bits of placenta etc in there to come out.
Pads are a nightmare, aren't they?

earlier on in pg... I actually started a thread asking if I could wear a mooncup this time round (VBAC hoopefully) instead of pads....... what was I thinking?

NoNickname · 28/11/2008 17:51

I used a Mooncup for miscarriage bleeding (after the sac had come away and after the initial very heavy bleeding). I know it's not usually advised, but I was already on antibiotics to guard against infection as I had waited about 3 weeks to mc naturally, and the consultant had prescribed them as a precautionary measure.

THAnks all, guess I'll have to stick to the pads for now
