ERPC, anyone know much about this?

I had a C-section with DS2 and 3 weeks later started heavy bleeding. After a scan they told me I had to have an Evacuation of Retained Products of Conception. this was done under general anasthetic (sp).
Now I am wondering if I asked the right question at the time. They said it was because there were 'bits' left over after the birth, but how did this happen when I had a section? confused.

They didn't hoover you out properly, I imagine. It was probably some placenta that had been left behind, or something like that.
