Unused birth pool in a box - what's the going rate for a resale?

I planned a lovely homebirth but 9 hours into labour they realised DD was breech (sigh) so we ended up in hospital having a c-section.

She's now 6-months old and the birth pool is still sitting in its box under my desk, completely unused. DH inflated it on the night of labour and filled it, but I never got in (and nor did anyone else!) so I guess you'd need to buy a new liner just to be on the safe side, but all the other bits and pieces are completely new and unused.

Do people buy these 'second-hand'? If so, what's the going rate?

Anyone want to buy it or should I list it in the classifieds section?

Cheers

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Like you I had a birth pool which was filled but unused - I sold mine via one of the midwives who attended DD's birth / visited postnatally, who kindly passed on the details to another pregnant lady planning a home birth. Is there any way of contacting your midwives again? Or asking you can put up an advert in their practice?

Alternatively I seem to remember at the time there was a good trade in second-hand unused pools on ebay. More hassle with postage / listing / fees though.

IIRC I knocked off about £30/£35 from the new price when I sold it. It was a La Bassine, I think the new price was around the £100 mark. Again ebay (completed listing) is a good place to look to get a feel for the going rate.

Oh and classified section here would be good place too! Silly me!

We kept our inflated-filled-but-unused BPIAB and get it out 2-3 times a year for a family bathe. Outdoors in the summer, and indoors in the winter. Great fun!

PrettyCandles - my DH is keen to do this but it didn't come out once during the summer, so I suspect it may never do. Be better to get some dosh for it, I think.

Sandk - cheers for the tip. I'll contact my midwives.

Thanks all
