Caesarean scar is really ugly and unusual.....

Just had my fourth section (last week) and have had a very strange stitch up. My first section made a rubber band thick scar that sat on top of the skin and then the second and third were fine, after two years (my last secion) I had an almost invisible silvery line. I now have a very ugly scar that for 2-3 inches accross has a red overhang of about 3/4 inch. Now I know this will shrink but will always have a flap of skin in the scar, in addition it's making cleaning and drying the wound very tricky. should I get in touch with the hospital now or wait and see???

Hi,
I would check with your midwife or doctor, but don't forget they do take away all the old scar tissue and it's traumatic for the skin!
My fourth scar was the neatest by far, done differently no stiches as such just a long wire which was strange for me (maybe common practise now!), it's been a year and although i haven't a flat tummy (haven't got round to all the exercise yet) it's got some potential .Don't stress too much it's only been a week! x
