Hello!

I have had 9 contractions of varying painfulness today over the last 12 hours, average an hour apart, some excruciating, some less so. I have lost some mucus plug and it feels like the baby is trying to headbutt its way out, bless it! I am 38+1 and fully engaged, baby is 38cm , so we're just sat here on the launchpad waiting for the countdown...

Does anyone know if this sounds like things are starting? It is my first baby so I haven't got a clue. I was going to book tickets for Quantum of Solace this weekend, but it seems a little risky now

Well, over a week since it all kicked off and my waters finally broke this afternoon! Am going into hosp for the GBS swab this evening but am coming home to labour until I really, really need to go in.

Big relief it has all finally started as now the latest my baby will be born is Monday.

Good luck.

Sounds(a bit) like my second labour when I had 2 nights of contractions but each morning they stopped.

Third evening, contractions started with a vengeance.

DD born 30mins after ariving at hospital!

Hope all goes well. Soo exciting...

Crikey, this child really does not want to be born, does it?!

I've been to the hospital for a GBS swab and made to sit on a pad to prove that my waters have actually broken (they wouldn't take my word for it ) and then sent home again - yay! - to labour and contract. Contractions promptly cease, lazy baby!

Thanks for all your encouragement, I am sitting here drinking the ol' RLT... I might go and watch the new James Bond movie this afternoon if nothing else happens - I figure the explosions, Daniel Craig in large doses [mm, Daniel Craig) and the jalapenos on the nachos I'm planning on scoffing might help! Plus poor old DH is climbing the walls, bless him.

It's such an exciting time! Good luck - we'll be looking out for your birth announcement very soon.
