29 hours v 13 - so yes relatively speaking!

MrsTittleMouse · 29/10/2008 09:41

Usually, but not always. I had a long slow build up to both of my labours. The active first stage was a bit shorter, but to be honest, that could be explained by the fact that DD1 was OP and DD2 was OA. DD2's delivery was better though, even though I didn't have the fast labour that everyone had promised me!

OMaLittle · 29/10/2008 09:44

1st - 12 hours from first contraction to birth
2nd (real labour, had latent stage first) - 2 hours!

DD1 OP and DD2 OA here too (maybe turning during the latent phase)

mabel1973 · 29/10/2008 10:41

ds1 was 11 hours
Ds2 was 9 hours, so shorter, but not so that I would've noticed!

Cosette · 29/10/2008 10:42

DD1 - 4 hours
DD2 - 35 mins
DS1 - 2.5 hours

ginnny · 29/10/2008 10:44

DS1 - 9 hours
DS2 - 4½ hours

They both popped out like little peas!!!

tinkisinthe3rdtrimester · 29/10/2008 11:36

Second one appeared on Friday, so fresh in my mind....

1st - 8hours
2nd - 1 hour

Good luck!

MakemineaGandT · 29/10/2008 13:58

DS1 - 8 hrs
DS2 - 5 hrs

(first twinge to popping out!)

Second labour easier/quicker but more intense

WhereWolfTheWildThingsWere · 29/10/2008 14:02

1st 37 hours
2nd 5 1/2 hours

Agree, second labour over quickly but very intense.

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 29/10/2008 14:13

My first two labours were indentical in everything but their overall duration.

DD1 32hrs (established)
DD2 16hrs (established)

BATtillaTheSEVEREDHanD · 29/10/2008 14:20

DS - 28 hours
DD - 7 hours

Same as others have said, the first was quite slow in the build up. The second was very fast and very intense.

marmaspook · 29/10/2008 15:45

dd1- 6 hrs
dd2- 3 hrs

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/10/2008 15:45

1st = 12 hours
2nd = 4 day induction, but established labour only 1hr 10mins.

MyPumpkinDsHappyHalloweenBday · 29/10/2008 15:48

DD 30 hours
DS 4 hours (although i was in slow labour for 1 week with him)

Worth every pain.

purpleduck · 29/10/2008 16:07

God yes
ds - 35 hrs
dd 6 hrs

TeeBee · 29/10/2008 16:10

Yes,
DS1 3.5 hours
DS2 1.5 hours (and that included shoulder distocia)

Hence, after first contraction went to the hospital immediately.

Most probably quicker I think.

FrockHorror · 29/10/2008 16:22

Not in my case, sorry!

DD - 8 hours from first niggly contractions
DS - 25 hours from first niggly contractions

beautifulgirls · 29/10/2008 16:24

DD#1 14hrs
DD#2 13hrs

milfAKAmonkeymonkeymoomoo · 29/10/2008 16:26

Yes!! I gave birth two weeks ago and had a 2.5hr labour after 28hrs with DD
