About 4 wks I think to feel pretty much ok. (Tear with no stitches both times, quicker to feel better with 2nd baby).
Had sex after 4 wks so must have been feeling ok!
Took arnica pills - guess they might have helped. And lots of baths.

mine is still knackered 12 years later. has never gone 'back to normal'. DH doesn't seem to mind though as long as the no entry sign is down.

Don't forget those pelvic floors either! My boyfriend swears by them! Hee hee.

2 weeks after ds1 (and I was so swollen and brusied from the ventouse delivery and episiotomy my midwife confessed she had never seen a fanjo as bruised and swollen as mine!)

After ds2 - A lot longer! No swelling but stitches from natural birth. Graze took longer to heal than the tear in fact. And just when evrything had finally settled down and I was ready to tend to my lady garden in anticipation of rekindling the physical side of marriage I took the skin off my labia with a wax strip - which certainly brought a tear to my eye (and Dh's as he had to wait for that to heal!)

Dunno but by the time I felt like getting back on the horse so to speak everything was fine...

Split up with my ds dad when i was pregnant and it was a further 4 years down the line till I found someone else, so that was ample time for healage. Maybe a bit to long. Seem to have gone the other way! Even missionarys painful nowadays!

thanks ladies

i had internal stitches, grazes and down there was covered in black bruises of the injections i had around my fanjo when the babys head was crowning as i had the horrendous burning feeling so midwife had to numb the fanjo area.

i will wait till i have my 6 weeks check and i go from there.

decide to sit on a inflatable ring today
