Had a show - shall I just carry on as normal?

Just had a show this morning - had a sweep two days ago. Am 40+3. Shall I just carry on as normal? Is it safe to leave the house or do I risk waters breaking in Bluewater??

I would carry on as normal, best way to get things going.
I wouldn't go too far from home though.
Good luck looks like things are starting

argh ds deleted post.

walking best thing basically, wear a thick pad but take it easy

My show took ages (3 days) to resolve into anything like contractions. As long as you don't go more than about 10 miles from the hospital/home/wherever you are going to have the baby, you'll be fine.

My waters didn't break until I was 8cm dilated, so they almost certainly won't go in a dramatic flourish in M&S (although apparently if they do, they give you gift vouchers).

Waters went at 4cm with DD1 and was spectacular! I'm talking Niagra Falls! But I was induced and she was breech so presume that was why there was quite so much liquid in one go as no head to block the way!

Agree that you shouldn't go too far. Last time I had a show I went to labour an hour later and had ds within 5 hours. Good luck

yeh def carry on with your day. Could still be a little while, even couple days yet, (sorry)

Agree don't go too far though if you feel happier.

That said, I'm one of these that will go any distance, drive, go out alone, etc, after shows, during ctx's etc, (not recommended this btw)

keep us informed, hope it goes well. x

Carry on as normal but don't go too far on your own. I had several shows at 35 weeks and I'm still pregnant 3 weeks later but for some people it is a sign that things are starting
