VBAC after a scheduled Cesarean

Hello Ladies,

New here.
I was reading your posts and can't help to ask for some advise, sharing, etc.
I'm 36w 5d pregnant with my second child.

First one was a CS due to complete placenta previa.

I'm more than willing to try for a VBAC this time but my OB wrote on my record I'm not a candidate for a VBAC.

I know VictorianSqualor had the same thing and had a successful VBAC.

Now, my records say my incision is high transverse, though, I don't know how high it is.

Should I go ahead and book the c-section just in case, hoping that my baby will come earlier than that? Should I keep fighting for my right for a VBAC or should I just play safe and go for my CS?

I need some advise!!!

I had a c-section with my first and was quite upset about not having the birth I wanted. I was a candidate for VBAC but the hospital always gave me the option of another c-section. When it got nearer the date I did all I could for a VBAC but DS2 was not going to come so I made the difficult decision for another c-section.

IMHO I think you have to think about why you want a VBAC. I felt I was not a 'proper woman' if I had not had a normal delivery but decided that this was not a good enough reason to put my own or the babies health at risk.

Yes a second c-section will mean that you are in hospital away from DC1 for a while and you will have problems with lifting and driving but I recovered so much quicker from the 2nd c-section because I knew what to expect. It also helped that I had loads of support from family.

I have accepted now that I will never experience labour or a normal delivery but I have two gorgeous and healthy boys so what more could I ask for.

get a second opinion. a if your scar is horizontal it is still less of an issue than a vertical/ classical incision.

opinion on VBAC can vary massively from obs to obs
