childbirth repair

I have to have a GA in November for the docs to see why everything is so painful 'down there' and repair whatever they find. They couldn't really see anything from an exam as I was jumping in anticipation of pain.
Haven't been able to have sex for 5 years now after that second degree tear. Will admit I've been too afraid to try but it aches and hurts if I move about on the seat.
I'm petrified and embaressed.
Anyone been through this?

Sorry for being dim, but what's a GA?

I don't know if it's Fenton's procedure that you will go through but you may find useful information if you follow these threads. And let us know how it goes, hopefully it will do wonders for you

If you don't mind my asking, did you not seek medical help for 5 years or did noone have anything useful to say? I am curious because I have been in pain since I gave birth eight months ago.

riven - are you happy to go ahead and have the a do-whatever-they-need to op?
Can they not offer you sedation or pain relief so they can examine you first?

Do you have help arranged in the event of the hysterectomy? You will need quite a lot of rest afterwards, no lifting etc iirc

yes I have heard that you can fight sedation so it doesn't always work

keirao · 15/09/2008 10:11

riven and blushinganonymous good luck to you both in November and keep us posted!
