Hello ... I am an experienced mum with three children of my own, i recently trained as a Doula but have been unable to find anyone in my area (Coventry /Warwickshire )who is willing to have a doula present at their birth! I need women due to give birth within the next 8 weeks. If anyone is interested or knows someone who may be please pass this message on. I will provide this service completely free of charge to the next 2 suitable clients. All I need them to do is supply me with an evaluation after the birth which will count towards my training as practice evidenceWendy

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I hope you have found someone by now Wendiwoo! If you were a little closer (I'm in South Staffs), and didn't mind waiting until the end of October, I would have loved to have had a doula attend my potential homebirth.

Best of luck to you!

Much as I'd love to have a Doula at DD's birth as DH turns into a flapping mess who is far from supportive, I'm too far away (Berkshire)

Good luck though

wendiwoo · 27/09/2008 21:47

Thanks for the messages of support, I have one birth booked for end of October now (VERY EXCITED!) but am still looking for another lady due in November/December 2008... If anyone knows a pregnant lady in my area who may be interested, I can email them with more details

I am not a member of Doula UK at the moment as the course I did has not been recognised by them yet. (It is a new course) But my friend is a member and I hope to become a member in the future
