I'm due today and since this morning have been leaking brown discharge... more like melted chocolate than the jelly you're meant to get with a show.

Is this ok? Does it mean things are starting? I suddenly can't remember anything I learnt in AN classes.

Sorry... I did say it was TMI...

Jess - I was due on saturday, and haven't had a show or anyhing yet.

A show doesn't always come out in one satisying go - it can go on for ages. For a lot of people having the show means labour is imminent (for my best friend it was 30 minutes both times!) but it can just as easily mean that your body is gearing up for labour but it can be days/weeks away. Perfectly normal though

It might be your show. If it is very watery it could be waters with meconium

A show doesn't mean that labour is imminent though, I've had two so far this pregnancy at 29 weeks and 32 weeks. Baby is still safe and sound inside.

totally normal, I would say show too, although mine lasted a good two weeks before labour
