Planning to have birth at watford general hospital. Anyone have had ay experience there? how are they with epidurals? are they quick with it? I would not like to have contractions for ages and wait for the epidural and then needing just to go ahead with pushing without pain relief because it is too late and no time for it?
any feedback would be very much appreciated.

Gave birth there in 2003 - it was not a good experience. I was left alone in labour for 4 hours, NO pain relief at all, midwife only came when my waters broke and by then I was at 7cm dilated.

I don't want to frighten you, but I had a truly awful experience there....

By the time a midwife examined me, it was too late and there was no time for an epidural, so only gas and air which the sadistic midwife took away from me during the pushing stage!!! Despite me begging for it back, I feel so ashamed with myself for begging for the G&A....

So sorry!!! I hope that someone has had a wonderful birth at Watford and can reassure you....

Good points - it was clean!
