Hiya,

My first period since I had my baby started yesterday (C section 12 weeks ago, not breastfeeding. Anyhow to say its heavy is an understatement its almost as bad as the bleeding the first week after the section .

Anybody else had this? I've had to send my hubby out to buy maternity pads again! And thats with using a super tampax!

Oatcake - congratulations and see a doctor if it goes on too long or is painful in any way. Also, I ex bf for 10 mths and period still returned at 4 mths - not at all unusual btw - and even if it doesn't come back early you can still get pg.

Thanks

I had the same thing, v v heavy for the first few, took about 5 of them until they were better. Also used maternity pads, couldn't leave the house the first day of my period. Now 9 mths of periods and back to normalish. Although I do find PMT much much worse than before. Might just be tiredness though!

lauraloola · 21/08/2008 20:47

Mine was about 7 weeks after dd was born. I am bottle feeding also. I couldnt believe how heavy and painful it was.

I am due for my 2nd any day and am dreading it being the same. I am hoping the first is the worst and this one will be a bit better.

jetgirl · 21/08/2008 20:50

Mine was 14 months after baby (I bfed) and it was the worst I have ever had. I literally couldn't move for the first 24 hours as my whole body ached, so whether you bf or not I don't think it makes a difference.

Seems to be a common thing, have now had two at 4 months since delivery. Two days before are absolutely hell emotionally. Then when it starts its like a tidal wave and an aching belly. Is the pain due to my C-section or is this a general problem?
