excruciating pain...

hi everyone,

im 38 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Just had a growth scan yesterday (MW thought i was small for dates) and everything looks alright
However,since few weeks ago i've been getting on-off hellish pain in my lower right side of my abdomen, like a twisting sensation ...it doesn't last longer than a minute, and usually always (annoyingly) in early morning, it comes and goes every few days.
It also seems to give me mild diarrahea..
Its starting to get more constant and im getting worried..are these BH or what? Anyone go thru something similar?

Is it in the front of you abdomen or your back/side? Does it make you feel sick? Do you have any symptoms of, or have you had urine infections in pregnancy?

Excruciating twisting pain in my side during pregnancy was kidney stones, which are more common in pregnancy. It could also be a kidney infection.

But could be a lot of other things. BH arent that painful. And you feel 'tightening' in your bump as well - more like period pains.

Worth mentioning to your midwife or GP I would think. Pain is a real warning signal - you should listen to it.

its the front lower side, the same side where i found out i had an ovarian cyst at the beginning of my pregnancy...but none of the doctors seemed concerned about that and said it was normal...and should be gone by now
Talking of kidney stones...my father had that. Do you know what are the other signs of a kidney infection? i haven't had a urine infection in my pregnancy. I will mention this again to my midwive at my next appointment, she didnt seem concerned too much the first time.

I had excruitiating pain which built up over a week on my right side just at the lower ribs - turned out to be HELLP syndrome. If it continues or gets worse contact midwife and get blood pressure checked. If they don't act go to A&E.
