she has gone to visit DH, the pains stopped about 2 o'clock, but she still feels "niggly"

bonym · 08/02/2005 15:57

Thanks for the update mieow - keep us posted!

motherinferior · 08/02/2005 15:59

Sometimes you know, sometimes you don't. My BHs in my first pregnancy were, I realised later, real contractions - I had them from four months on and they hurt like hell. When labour started, I just had more and more and MORE of them.

sparklymieow · 08/02/2005 16:06

will do, she will probably be online later, tho. she did tell me to take my phone to bed tonight just in case!!

Pidge · 08/02/2005 16:12

I think we need to forbid anyone from the March thread from producing a baby until at least mid February ! Do keep us posted.

sparklymieow · 08/02/2005 16:16

but her scan dates put her one week ahead so she could be feb. baby after all!! I am very excited now!! Feel like a dad waiting to hear when their wife has gone into labour

Pidge · 08/02/2005 16:39

Oh well, I'll let her off then! Am just jealous though - still in the office, twiddling my thumbs till maternity leave starts next week and anticipating going beyond my due date like with dd.

And popsycal - what did the midwife have to say to you?

It's all getting too exciting - how am I supposed to pretend to my colleagues that I'm getting anything done?

popsycal · 08/02/2005 16:40

bp top end of normal and 4.5th engaged

Pidge · 08/02/2005 17:13

Are they concerned about the BP? It's quite common for it to go up at the end isn't it? You've done brilliantly to make it this far.

Blimey - 4.5 engaged. That's pretty impressive for a non-first timer!

The race is on for the first graduate ...

popsycal · 08/02/2005 18:09

The midewife is really happy with me! No protein in urine, swollen ankles now but fairly common at this stage and bp is ok....
although this is the point where it began to soar with DS - up til 36 weeks last time it was lower than it is now!

I am still going to weekly midwife appointments and MUSt ring her if I am at all worried or get any symptoms......

misdee · 08/02/2005 18:48

i am still niggly yup. just had to make pancakes for tea for my dd's, and am hoping they settle down early tonight so i can clean (omg mieow i may be nesting!!!) i came in and put the dogs bed straight in the wash as the place stinks of dog. the poor mutt is getting a bath tonight as well!! bubs is pushing down at the same time as kicking under my ribs, little madam!!

got check up tomorrow if nothig happens overnight.

sparklymieow · 08/02/2005 18:51

lol @ you nesting!! I have been asking you for weeks if you have been nesting, haven't I?

misdee · 08/02/2005 21:07

loads of pressure on top of bump, and backache low down, again like period pain. front of pelvis aches something chronic.

am about to go do some more houseowrk, and bath the dog (cant do it when the kids are awake as they try to 'help') then will go to bed my self.

sparklymieow · 08/02/2005 22:08

well, I suppose I better get some sleep, in case Misdee goes in labour overnight now

popsycal · 09/02/2005 09:10

Hows things tofday misdee?

misdee · 09/02/2005 13:12

was up loads duringnthe night, very very niggly. all stopped this morning tho, jst lower back ache.

OP posts:
Pidge · 09/02/2005 13:15

Well, kind of glad to still find you here this morning - though I guess it must be frustrating for you! Did the dog get washed? That sounds like serious nesting to me.

popsycal · 09/02/2005 13:26

Glad you are still here misdee......

I have pressure really low down (front and back!) and it is veyr uncomfortable......
PIdge - can't believe you are stil at work!

Pidge · 09/02/2005 13:31

Well, I am still at work, though rather frustratingly I don't actually have very much to do. The whole team are winding down, and in fact this is a very good time to be leaving, everyone else is a bit jealous that I have the ultimate 'Get out of jail free' card!

So all I have to do is sit here, check mumsnet, oh and maybe I'll manage to do a couple of my low priority tasks for the afternoon!

Leogaela · 09/02/2005 14:04

Misdee - how did your appointment go today????
