Hi,
Does anyone have any positive birth stories they can share (preferably about hospital births).

Just to reassure my wife and of course, me!

I am due to give birth in the next few weeks and I am becoming increasingly concerned about giving birth at Lewisham Hospital.

The midwife I have been seeing is excellent, but I am worried about the way some women say they have been treated. Plus the national report shows that the hospital is poor. I am concerned.

I live in Brockley and I am considering changing to Queen Elizabeth in Woolwich??? (hmm)

I have had 4 fantastic home births and have been with loads of women as a doula who have all had really positve experiences both in and out of hospital. If you want loads of positive birth stories for hospital as well as home births go to www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk

I had two very calm, relaxed hospital births with midwives I'd never met. Enjoyable and fun at times. .

Very memorable with no fear - just delightful given that there is a considerable degree of indignity involved.

I wish you well.

I have genuinely been describing my second birth as "fantastic". Wasn't easy or pain free or particularly short but a fantastic experience. Would even say I would love to do it again (am a little mad me).

Was a home birth so not really what you are looking for but I spent quite a bit of time preparing for it after a bad first experience. I had a doula, tens and birth pool and listened to the mongan method hypnobirthing cds. I breathed through the contractions which genuinely worked and had some gas and air towards the end but chucked it for the pushing stage. Felt completely in control, clear headed and talked myself through things eg this will end/the pain is good means baby is coming etc etc.

Birth doesnt have to be a nightmare - far from it!
