Mindy, just wanted to say that I was induced at term+13 last year, and it was absolutely fine.
More than fine, in fact - have birth phobia so had been terrified, and was in fact equally petrified of birth turning into a intervention nightmare.
In the end, got to hospital, was too dilated to have gel (3cm naturally but lazy baby just stopped there ), had waters broken, no dilation after two hours, was told had to have syntocinon drip but - and this is the important part - lovely humane hospital offered me the epidural first.
Six pain-free hours later, I pushed DS out with the help of my community midwife. Had one tiny tear which didn't even need stitches, up and about within hours.
I've gone on a bit, but only because I wouldn't have been so terrified if I'd read something like this when it was my turn.
Mums committed to natural birth would prolly still see my birth as a nightmare, but TBH I loved it, so calm and relxed, and would do it all again exactly the same.
Good luck X
