Labour??

Had what i can only assume were contractions all last night. Started in back and worked around to front for about 45-60 seconds every 10-12mins. Very painful, enough to make me moan out loud. Then tailed off at about 4am, what is going on! Any suggestions or words of wisdom?

I'm 39+4 and its the second night in a row this has happened. It's driving me nuts!

Latent labour from the sound of it, your body is gearing up and it could start any moment. Get rest! It is tempting to do your 'stay active' thing, but you will need your energy for that once things really kick off. May not be a bad idea to give your midwife a call. Hope it happens for you soon and easily

Thank madmouse, things seem a lot more settled today but still having some pains periodically but no real pattern to it. DH has horrible cold (of course its flu cause he is a man) so could do with him better first but guess this one will come when its ready.

Are you drinking enough? Sometimes contractions at night can be brought on by dehydration. Definitely rest up though as I am sure it won't be long. Good luck

Sound like practice contractions. They will be helping get your baby into a good position for birth.

Try to ignore them - you will be in no doubt when the main ones arrive.

Think i drink lots but now you ask i'm not so sure. Will keep topping them up today and see if that helps, thanks.

make sure your wee is pale, then you know you drink enough

Well still here with bump so guess in answer to my own question - no!

Thanks for the help ladies, hopefully this one will come soon!

Sounds like latent labour - I had that and then went in to labour the next day. Get plenty of sleep - you'll need it!! Get MW to examine you and see if you have dilated at all.
