Baby had 8 week immunisation at 4:50pm today, gave first dose of calpol at 5pm. Baby has been asleep for the past hour and is due calpol obviously in 4-6 hours. Which would bring us to 9pm or 11pm would you wake or leave baby to sleep?

Same again after the second dose, wake to administer more calpol or leave baby to sleep?

Also, if baby was to develop a fever in the 24 hours but have had their full 3 to 4 doses they’re allowed in 24 hours. What would you do? Ibroprofen?

I really wouldn’t worry, let the baby sleep. Don’t wake the baby the say.
I would only give them another dose if they have a temp. See how you get on?
is this your first baby?

I’d definitely let them sleep and I really wouldn’t worry too much if they have a light fever - that’s normal and a sign that their immune system is kicking in. So long as they’re comfortable, I’d just give calpol as and when they seem to need it. DS never needed any with his immunisations.

It’s worth noting a fever and a temp aren’t the same thing, the nhs page is really handy for this
and any temp that goes down with Calpol is also not really a worry.
I definitely wouldn’t wake baby up though, if they’re uncomfortable they’ll wake up and tell you, be very grateful they sleep and enjoy it!

Agree with all the others, but just to add that I don’t think they’re allowed Ibuprofen until they are three months old. So definitely don’t give that. If you have given the baby all the 3/4 doses I’m afraid all you can do is ride it out. It might make him/ her uncomfortable but it’s not dangerous.
